Farmapram alprazolam

Farmapram alprazolam is a short-acting benzodiazepine used to treat anxiety and panic disorder. It is listed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) – Authority required, for the treatment of panic disorder where other treatments have failed or are inappropriate. It is not PBS listed for anxiety.

Benzodiazepines (benzos) depress the central nervous system, which calms the brain. Also known as sedatives or minor tranquilizers. In the United States, Farmapram 2mg is known by its generic name alprazolam sold under the brand name Xanax.  The name Farmapram is well-known in Mexico. It is a Schedule IV controlled substance that causes physical dependence.

How Long Does Farmapram 2mg Last?

A drug’s half-life determines how long it lasts in the body. It is the length of time for half of the drug to be eliminated. In healthy adults, Farmaprams’s half-life is approximately 11 hours. However, drug metabolism is different for everyone. This means that a drug’s half-life varies from person to person.

Side effects of Farmapram

The most common side effects of alprazolam include drowsiness and light-headedness. These are not all the possible side effects of alprazolam. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects.

  • dry mouth
  • increased saliva production
  • trouble concentrating
  • weight changes
  • unsteadiness

Dosage & How To Take Farmapram alprazolam

Xanax comes in immediate-release and extended-release tablets. The dosage depends on two things:

  • Patient’s age
  • Patient’s diagnosis

Adult with anxiety, the suggested dosage is:

  • 0.25-0.5 mg of an immediate-release tablet
  • Three times a day
  • A maximum daily dose of 4 mg

Eelderly patients with anxiety, the suggested dosage is:

  • 0.25 mg of an immediate-release tablet
  • Two to three times per day

Adult with panic disorder, the suggested dosage is:

  • 0.5 mg of an immediate-release tablet
  • Three times a day
  • A maximum daily dose of 10 mg

Extended-release tablets, the usual starting dose is 0.5-1 mg once a day. The maintenance dose is 3-6 mg, taken in the morning.

Elderly patients with panic disorder, the usual dose is:

  • 0.25 mg of an immediate-release tablet
  • Twice a day

Extended-release tablets, 0.5 mg taken once a day.

When taking xanax, take note of the following:

  • Immediate-release tablets allowed to dissolve in your mouth. Do not chew.
  • Extended-release tablets do not crushe, chew, or also brok. Swallow it whole.
  • If you missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember. .
  • Do not take an extra dose to make up for the missed dose.
